Medical students’ perception towards E-learning during COVID 19 pandemic in a high burden developing country

Abstract Background In High-income countries, many academic institutions are using E-learning during COVID 19 Pandemic. However, in limited-resource like Sudan, shifting towards requires adjustments to be made make sure the is held a proper manner, as best possible. This study was undertaken assess medical students’ perception implementing Pandemic and highlight for implementation Sudan an example of setting. Methods A cross-sectional survey conducted between 10 25 May 2020 among undergraduate students at Faculty Medicine, University Gezira, Sudan. The used self-administered online-based questionnaire. E-mail social media platforms such Facebook WhatsApp were utilized disseminate Results total numbers 358 responded online majority (87.7 %) agreed that closure university essential decision control spread COVID-19 infection. Approximately two-thirds (64 perceived solution lockdown. level (Pre-clerkship Clerkship) place residence had significant correlation ( p -value < 0.05) with opinion regards starting E-learning. Internet bandwidth connectivity limitation, unfamiliarity system, technical support limitation time flexibility case problems exams, lack face-to-face interaction factors considered by against implementation. Conclusions Most positive there challenges inhibitory factor utilizing electronic technologies education. We recommend our setting should systematically evaluated effective strategies developed overcome their effects.
